Club History

The KIWANIS CLUB OF KELOWNA (Summit)  was chartered as one of 7,700 clubs in 80 countries in 1987.  Our motto is "Serving the Children of the World".

KIWANIS has been supporting Kelowna and surrounding areas since 1947 starting with the original Kiwanis Club of Kelowna, then came the High Noon Club, CKI College Club, Summit Club, Westbank Club, Lake Country Club, Golden K Club, Business Club, several Key Clubs (High School), Builder's Club and two AKtion Clubs.

Kiwanis faces the same problems as other service clubs and that is deminishing number of members.  However, Kelowna Kiwanians continue to support our community with pride and plans are under way to increase our membership and presence in the community.

BUILDING AND SUPPORTING OUR COMMUNITY

Long time Kiwanis projects are the Kiwanis Music Festival s (over 90 years)

The Kiwanis Towers (independent living for seniors) was owned and operated by the Kiwanis Clubs of Kelowna for over 40 years. The building is now under new management and we want to thank past and current Kiwanians for the years of dedicated volunteer service and support  to maintain the building and quality of life for the residence.
